Real Time Energy (Pty) Ltd (Real Time), is a company whose core business is the logging, presenting and calculating the energy consumption, loss or savings via GSM based data management hardware and software systems. In-house development teams and the innovative use of technology mean that our products are at the forefront of this technology.

Real Time was been born from an amalgamation of a number of companies that were industry leaders in their own right, thus giving Real Time over 40 years experience in the design and manufacture of RF base telemetry systems, over 15 years experience in Telemetry systems implementation and over 10 years experience in the design and manufacture of GSM based telemetry systems.

In total the group houses approximately 40 staff members including members.

On a technical level Real Time has an infrastructure that allows it to offer services that are secure, reliable and cutting edge. Real Time has access to a corporate APN within the group and is associated with RTS which is a Vodacom business partner. The main Real Time Server is hosted in a secure environment on the internet backbone with all redundancy measures in place and backups being done off site at regular intervals. The hardware has a CE rating which ensures that the client receiving a quality product that is reliable.

Real Time views its operation as offering solutions that put meaningful and timely data management information at the disposal of customers in a form and content currently not available from our competitors. A customer and service oriented approach to business is more often talked about than achieved, especially in the data management industry. At Real Time customer satisfaction is extremely important and we view the ability to take care of our customers and to offer flexible solutions as one of our competitive advantages.

With the ever increasing need to keep rising energy costs down, two exciting announcements in South Africa have changed the way we look at renewable energy.

Eskom's Solar Water Heating Programme. Eskom offers a rebate to consumers of hot water who can reduce energy consumption by implementing an intervention such as solar water heaters.

South African Government has introduced a tax incentive for companies that can prove energy efficiency savings.

One of the primary requirements for companies to benefit from these incentives is that they need to make use of independent Measurement and Verification (M&V) professionals. M&V is designed to quantify and assess the savings that result from projects in an impartial manner. Real Time has the advantage of having the software, hardware and firmware designed in house and under one roof, this allows us to provide unparalleled flexibility when it comes to customisation. Real Log is the system used for monitoring and controlling stationary out stations via telemetry, whether it be via GSM or RF.

Telemetry or remote monitoring and control, is the remote measurement and control or the remote collection of data. Telemetry is typically used to gather data from, or provide control to, distant, inaccessible locations, or when data collection or control would be dangerous or difficult for a variety of reasons.
